An endodontist is a dentist who specialises in treating endodontic problems (endo-within, dontic-tooth). In general, this mostly involves root canal treatment. The sole purpose of endodontists is to perform root canal treatments with the aim of improving the chances of saving your natural teeth. Having undertaken at least three years of additional advanced training following the basic and general professional dental training, endodontists possess the skills, deep scientific knowledge and facilities to undertake root canal treatments effectively, thereby reducing the need for
re-treatment or extraction.

Where possible, the aim should always be to save your natural teeth. If your dentist says that you need root canal treatment, or suggests removing your tooth because of problems with the root canals, we would be happy to see you for consultation and treatment. You will benefit from our resident endodontist and fully equipped surgery for endodontic treatments.
